Words literally escape me when I sit down to think about this day. Wow… as you can see we had the best day of our lives and I couldn’t be more grateful. Seriously, to everyone out there that played a role in this day, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Because this was the most stress free, exciting and enjoyable day of our lives.

It felt like this day had been taking forever to get here, like time couldn’t hurry up fast enough. God provided. It was meant to be. Destined by Him.

Connor proposed on a trip we took to go see some dear friends of our get married in Wisconsin. We had decided we just couldn’t miss their wedding and that we would make the most out of the long drive there. We decided to go to Niagara Falls! We camped along the way to save money (and for the experience because we like camping). One rainy night we were stuck in the tent because, well, rain. We were just laying there talking and he sat up really quickly and told me he couldn’t wait any longer to tell me something, pulled something out of his pocket and asked me if I would marry him. In the near dark tent I grabbed his face and exclaimed “yes!” as the rain fell harder almost as if it were cheering us on. We sat there together and just enjoyed a few moments together and letting the fact sink in that we were engaged! Then we took turns calling our parents and telling them the great news. They were both so overjoyed for us.

After we got back from our trip, it was as though God continued to prove his will for our up coming marriage. Things began to fall into place that we were unable to have fall in place before. Connor immediately found a wonderful job and was able to start right away. Then about a month after our engagement, I ran into an old friend and she out of the blue asked if I needed a job. At the time I was working a part time job that made me really unhappy. Next thing I know, I had a full-time job surrounded by amazing people that I love so dearly. God could not have orchestrated these events more perfectly for us. It is this time in our lives that I have returned to when I feel like his timing is not going so well. I I return to the time that he allowed the pieces to fall so gently and perfectly into place for us. Never against us.

Our wedding was full of joy, worship, laughter and great friends and family. I can’t wait to share in my upcoming posts some of the things God has grown in us and taught us over this past year and a half  through our marriage. We are blessed and so happy together.
