Marie and Mark drove in from The City for this rainy engagement session at The Philbrook Museum. The day started out perfectly sunny and beautiful outside. Suddenly, around mid-afternoon the sky began to turn dark and it started pouring rain! They were already on their way to Tulsa and we had booked this session with The Philbrook Museum. We all 3 basically RAN inside as it poured harder and harder. Marie was so disappointed, but we TURNED. IT. AROUND! I was convinced we could still get beautiful pictures even though it was raining.
Not pictured: me soaking wet with frizzy, wild hair and looking like a hunchback with my camera inside my rain jacket hahaha! And guess what? We got incredible images and had a fantastic time walking through the gardens and getting to know each other better. The rain even let up half way through and we were able to ditch the umbrellas for a bit. Because things calmed down a bit, we discovered that we have a lot in common! We bonded over our mutual love of gardening, planting and harvesting vegetables and herbs! They were so kind, understanding and trusting. The Lord just knew we needed a few moments of calm to ease the situation. I will never stop proclaiming from the rooftops how much gratitude I feel for each of my couples and how they love and trust my ability to create something beautiful! And 10/10 times we have FUN too! Needless to say, I am beyond excited and thrilled for their September wedding! Because we were able to have engagement photos in the Spring, wedding photos in the Fall will give such a fun variety of colors and seasons! I’m so excited to be around these two MORE!
