One of the *best* things about being a wedding photographer is meeting couples and families there and then becoming friends with them. And then they have really sweet babies and want you to take pictures of their amazing family! That’s kinda what happened here when I met Alanna as a bridesmaid in a perfect wedding I did in 2020 (you can check that one out here). Needless to say, I got to kick off my summer with some very fun people. It always feels like catching up with old friends when I see them. That’s the best kind of photo shoot. And a summer family photo session is quite possibly my favorite kind. I find beauty in every season, but I just have a soft spot for lush greenery, colorful flowers and warm sun-filled air.
While this was technically still Spring time, it sure felt like summer out there in the warm sun. It is very typical for most kids (and adults) to take a few minutes to warm up in front of the camera. But let me tell you that these two girls didn’t skip a single beat. I will say it over and over again: I love following your kids around and getting pictures of them in their truest and purest form of themselves. I love that Alanna and Mitchell don’t worry about their girls sitting still for photos. They fully trust me to do my thing and it genuinely made the whole time together flawless. Man, that makes me feel good. And if you ever feel concerned about not getting enough “good” images from a short family photo session, just scroll on and be convinced otherwise!

What a collection of a beautiful, very obviously happy family. They all looked like they were having fun and really enjoying the experience. Beautiful photography!
I love that you can see how they are having fun! Because gosh I really want that true joy to show through my images. Thank you!!
